Simon was a strong supporter of Heritage Skills Academy and Ben, the automotive industry charity, a longstanding member of the automotive family, and a passionate ambassador for inspiring young people to begin their Engineering careers as Apprentices within the Historic Racing and the classic vehicle restoration and preservation industry.
“Simon was a one-off: a hugely generous-spirited man who would help out a fellow-competitor, a friend or a stranger without a second thought. With his warm generosity, and his skill and sportsmanship behind the wheel, small wonder that he was one of the best-known and best-loved people in historic motor sport.” Sarah and the family
As recognition of this, Sarah and the family have chosen Heritage Skills Academy and Ben, the automotive industry charity, as beneficiaries for donations from family, friends and colleagues wishing to celebrate his life.
"Without effort, Simon could not help being an entertainer, generating outrageous fun wherever he went.”
Heritage Skills Academy is committed to preserving the skills and knowledge essential to maintain classic vehicles. We will work closely with Sarah and the family to ensure that donations are used to celebrate Simon’s support for Historic Racing, the classic vehicle industry and continue to encourage young people’s careers in it.
Ben, the automotive industry charity, provides support for life to those who work, or who have worked, in the automotive industry and their beneficiaries. With someone calling Ben every 15 minutes for support, we are well placed to provide specific mental, physical and financial support.
All donations on this page will be split equally between Heritage Skills Academy and Ben, the automotive industry charity (charity number 297877).
