My Story

My daughter Beth and I are raising funds for the Automotive Industry Benevolent fund BEN through the Bangers4Ben event in early October.  Having spent my career in the automotive industry on new and clean fuels, lubricants and technologies with BP, Ricardo, Statoil, Coryton and Aero Truck, it is a charity that has personal meaning to us.  There is more about BEN on their website, please do take a look.

The Bangers4Ben event is a round Britain rally for 50 teams each runnign themed cars.  I cannot say what our theme is until the event (those are the rules), but we think it is unique and has not been done before.  Photos of past events are on the Bangers4Ben facebook page - worth a look.  We buy a car for £750 or less, fix it up as necessary, theme it, and after the rally we are donating the car to BEN and it will be auctioned off at BCA Blackbushe later next month.  Needless to say Beth and I will be in thematic costumes for the full 4 days and I look forward to posting some photos during and after the event - you may not recognise us!
