My Story

I'm guessing if you're reading this, you've followed the link from my Twitter feed. This probably means you're a petrol-head, passionate about cars or involved in the automotive industry in some way, shape or form.

To you it's likely that a car* is more than just a machine, it's a labour of love, an expression of who you are or perhaps the realisation of a lifelong dream.

And whether your car is brand new, a classic, a patchwork of rust and primer or a gleaming tribute to wash & wax, it started life in a factory, odds-on went through a dealership and is likely looked after by a lovely mechanic, either at a service centre or your local garage.

And, like your car, the automotive industry is more than just a machine; it's a living, breathing, family of over 820,000 individuals, without whom the car ownership dream wouldn't be possible, and each of whom face the same challenges as you yourself might, perhaps even more so given today's uncertainty in the automotive market.

Ben works tirelessy to support anyone who works, or has worked in the automotive, associated or allied trades or industries, providing essential, and often vital support for life, for both them and their family dependents.

Your donation helps Ben to work with people to improve their mental health, physical health and their wellbeing - whether they are facing a crisis or just need some support to get them back on track.

I've been involved in some whacky initiatives with Ben over the years, usually though I'm behind the wheel of a car, however lockdown changes that, so now I'm on a treadmill along with 9 other team mates cycling, running and walking to cover as many miles as we can (ideally making the 1722 distance from Pembrey circuit in Wales, around some of the UKs fantastic motor racing circuits, ending up at Silverstone, the home of British Motor Racing, ten days later.

Thanks for considering a donation, and for reading this far. You've gone the extra mile... I best get my shoes on and do likewise.

Thanks

David
