My Story

I'm taking on the challenge of climbing Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) at night using NVG (night vision goggles) equipment to raise money for Ben – the automotive industry charity that supports people for life.

This challenge is about pushing limits, stepping out of my comfort zone, and raising awareness for a cause that helps so many people in our industry through tough times. Every donation, big or small, will make a real difference and help Ben continue providing vital support to those who need it most.

THE CHALLENGE

Climbing snowdon is a challenge for most, doing it at night adds another layer of interest, doing it under night vision increases the intensity. The aim here is to make it interesting, unique and a little thrilling. I aim to shoot some amazing content through the night vision showcasing what real stargazing looks like at elevated altitude and minimal light pollution.

WHY BEN? - WHY AT NIGHT? - WHY WITH NVG?

Why Ben, when I started my business, Overland Edition Ltd, I was introduced to the charity Ben when visiting a trade show at the NEC, from there I got talking to representatives and realised what an amazing offering Ben provides to all those within the Automotive industry.

Sadly I lost my brother to suicide, at that moment in time I had not heard of Ben and perhaps neither did he, I cannot help but think that if he was aware of the help Ben provides, maybe, just maybe, things might have been completely different and external support would have been accessible for him.

Myself and him had a strong bond, united by the hobby "Airsoft" we created a social media page called "Tac_Brothers" where we would participate in the hobby together and record our shenanigans, I still carry on the socials in his name, Jae showed a great interest in night vision and the capability to be able to stargaze and play Airsoft at night would have been a dream come true for him.

Putting these factors in play I think it may be clear to see why the idea sprang to mind to make this a little more challenging and memorable.

So with these factors in mind, I've created this donation page to share my story, share Bens awareness and participate in a rather exciting opportunity.

SIDE MISSIONS.

Weather and equipment depending, I'm hoping to LIVE stream the whole adventure, do Q&A's, interviews and general chit chat for the entire journey.
